Why Vidya Balan Was Held Back For Alia Bhatt
You may have seen Vidya-Arjun starrer Kahaani 2 before SRK-Alia starrer Dear Zindagi if it hadn't been for the Kahaani franchise producer Jayantilal Gada. Read on for his explanation...
So while speculation has been rife that the Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani 2, directed by Sujoy Ghosh and co-staring Arjun Rampal, was pushed back from November 25 to December 2 simply to avoid a clash with the Shah Rukh Khan-Alia Bhatt upcoming flick Dear Zindagi directed by Gauri Shinde, there is much more to it than just that.

Speaking at the Kahaani 2 trailer launch this afternoon, producer of the Kahaani franchise Jayantilal Gada said, "I didn't want to clash with anything to do with Bhatt saab because he and I have worked on a couple of TV shows together."
We called up Gada later requesting him to elaborate on his association with Mahesh Bhatt, to which he replied, "Look, Bhatt saab is like a creative consultant for my son Dhaval's TV projects. Dhaval runs a TV production house- Dhaval & Guru Productions- Guru is his partner. We have done two shows till date- Naamkaran (Star Plus) and Udaan (Colors) with Bhatt saab. How can I come in the way of his daughter's film? I respect Bhatt saab and it's a matter of ethics."

Just a thought before we sign off on this: Did Gada push Kahaani 2 for also the fact that Vidya's hit film The Dirty Picture released on a December 2 (2011)? Superstition, you know!
